We booked this cruise for the itinerary more than anything else. We’ve done river cruises before and was interested to learn how TUI, a river cruise newcomer would compare to the more established river cruise companies. The answer is “very well actually”.

The ship, the TUI Maya is not new, but was refurbished in, I think, 2020 and I can report, to a very high standard. The public rooms are well appointed with little sign of any wear and tear, likewise the exterior of the ship, the terrace and the sun deck are equally impressive.

The staterooms are nicely done with everything you need, air conditioned, flat screen television, safe, hair dryer, telephone, desk, drawers, plenty of hanging space and enough sockets for charging your devices. Also tea and coffee making facilities, which not all river cruise ships have. Read more
