Cruised with my sister and was excited to visit both Iceland and Greenland. Flew in two days earlier and explored Reykjavik before start of cruise. First time sailing platinum, enjoyed the extra perks.
Ship was full but was able to find quiet places. Spice H2O was nice, has 2 hot tubs plus really comfortable seating. Buying the thermal spa pass was well worth it. It was a great place to relax. It was too chilly most days to be out on deck unless you bundled up. The weather did impact how crowded the Garden Cafe was during peak times since it was really too windy to eat outside.
We ate at the MDRs, the Garden Cafe, O'Sheehan's, Le Bistro, Teppanyaki, and La Cucina. Le Bistro was our favorite in terms of food and service. Garden Cafe does struggle with certain foods being hot. Eggs cooked to order for breakfast and noodle soup or pasta for lunch was best way to ensure hot food. Enjoyed the salad bar and various dips/spreads to accompany said salad.
Cabin in good shape. A little wear and tear. Couch was by balcony.
Lovely town! Very helpful tourist information center, can pick up tours near port. Visited the Forest Lagoon and the botanical garden
Very small town, had to tender. Visited a very cool museum about everyday life. Very nice brew pub too. Bought a handmade sweater and mittens from a local cooperative. Plenty of hiking trails close by.
--NCL Star tendered but there is a small dock and two small ships were docked same time as we were there.
The Open Air museum was very interesting and recommended. $10 US. Beautiful port.
Has a very small museum about life in this part of the world. Beautiful small church that was open. Locals were offering tours by boat or car. Mosquito net a must!
Can walk into main part of town but there is a shuttle bus from port, not sure of cost. Things to do/see/buy for tourists. Taking a boat into the fjord recommended. Only NCL excursion we did, the provider in Nuuk Water Taxi. Good tour.
Greenland National Museum is very good!
