This cruise was a referral by family members who suggested something different than the typical ocean cruise. We have been on numerous cruises including the Caribbean, Alaska, and the Mediterranean but never a river boat cruise. We experienced a fantastic cruise that coupled history and luxury. From the moment we boarded the Viking Rolf, we knew we would experience something completely different. Each day we were treated to an included shore excursion that allowed us to learn the history of this part of Europe by experienced guides from the local communities. Onboard, we were able to extend our experience of the Rhine through meals that included local favorites. Though there was no formal entertainment onboard, we did have the opportunity to listed to live piano music and exchanging the day's experiences with fellow travelers in the lounge. Finally, we encountered a team of service professionals dedicated to our comfort from sunrise to sunset.
