We have sailed 7 times on HAL and have always enjoyed the cruises. This was the first HAL cruise that did not meet our expectations. While the service and crew members were outstanding as usual, our main complaint was the quality of the food and the food selections in the MDR. Many times at dinner in the MDR our server did not ask if we wanted a drink or wine with dinner and rarely were we asked if we wanted coffee or tea after dinner. Portions in MDR were very small and we found the food to be overly salted. I think they have cut back on the help in the dining room and the kitchen and it has had a negative impact on the dining experience. Food in Lido was plentiful and had great variety. Lunch in Pinnacle Grill was delicious as well as dinner in Canaletto.
Ship's decor could be updated. Entertainment choices were some of the worst we've ever encountered. Don't know if this was a fluke or the way HAL is heading. We really missed B.B.King's Jazz Club and Lincoln Center Stage.
