The Romantic Danube was the name of the cruise, that's the 1st reason we decided to take this cruise. Then the ports of call were the second reason. We were a little disappointed that a bus ride for all excursions was necessary to see the ports. We had envision getting off the ship and walk into town or city.. The worst was the Strassburg tour. A 9.5 hour excursion turned into 15 hours!! On another tour in Vienna we went on our own after the tour and took an Uber back to the pier. We didn't know where the ship was. It wasn't with the other 8 Viking ships on pier one. My wife went in one of the ships looking for someone to help us. There was no one to be found anywhere. She went on another ship and found someone to tell her," it's here, definitely here but i cant tell you where". After a practical heat stroke we found it in pier 12.
The food was very good. The service was fantastic from the room steward , waiters and bartenders to the aids at the airports.
We paid for a balcony only to use it once. Each time we went to go on the balcony there was another ship tied up next to us. It was a waste of money.
cabin was fine other than the other Viking ships tied up to us preventing us to use the balcony we paid extra for.
The room steward was excellent.
