We chose this transatlantic cruise and this ship because we wanted transportation to Europe, did NOT want to visit a lot of ports, wanted to relax at sea prior to a heavy sightseeing itinerary once we arrived, and for the entertainment and food advertised.

We were wholly disappointed. We were disappointed to the point that we would not want to travel on Holland America again.

The embarkation process was a mess. Apparently, the ship had to undergo a Coast Guard inspection and a Health Department check at the same time. Our check-in was scheduled for 11 AM, but we never got on the ship until after 2 PM. There was no explanation to the waiting masses as to what was going on.

Cabin Review

We had plenty of space for two people in our balcony cabin. There was enough space for both of us to unpack for a two week cruise. We brought some magnetic hooks for the walls, which were really useful in holding those small items that take up room - hats, sunglasses, lanyards, etc.

We thought the bed was quite comfortable...and we're picky about beds.
