My husband and I went on this Alaska Cruise and were so excited about it. It did the basics as far as transporting us from one city to the next to see Alaska best but thats about all it did. We enjoyed Alaska and the towns we stopped at, but the cruise itself was less than average. This cruise isn't for people that like lively environments. 90%% of the passengers were over the age of 60 years old which is totally fine but I think with this population, Norwegian bases of events and entertainment off that. There was rarely anything to do while on the cruise itself. There was only music going on one area of the ship in the evenings from about 7-10. There were shows in the theatre two 7&9 PM every night that were okay and then Bingo 1 day but besides that there was never anything to do. A few times it said there was karaoke and trivia but when we checked it out either nothing was going on or there was only 5 people in the room. I went on Celebrity cruiseline in the past and there was ALWAYS something to do... almost overstimulating but in a good way with all the options and there was msuic going on at multiple spots of the boat throughout the whole day. So to be so bored on Norweigen Cruiseline was extremely disappointing.
The food was absolutely awful. Most things you could tell was frozen foods that were just heated up. My husband found hair in the food multiple times. There was no food item that whole week that I thought was good. The staff was very nice and helpful though.
We drove past it and the boat stopped 800 yards away from it for an hour but didnt get to see much or get off the boat
