We felt a cruise would be a great way to visit the European cities along the Baltic Sea. We understood the Dawn to be an older ship, but found it well taken care of. The food (mostly buffet) was consistently very good at each meal. The staff (specifically our room steward) were very attentive in all of their interactions with those on board.

Additionally, the entertainment was beyond what we were expecting. Entertainment consisted of a house band, a show band, several solo/duet acts, the show vocalists, the show dancers, a magician, a solo rock/soul vocalist (Nathan James), and an aerialist duet from Ukraine. The production number, Elements, was very professionally performed in the Stardust venue.

Embarkation was a breeze, the check-lines were very well staffed and we moved right through and were on the ship within five minutes of entering the line in the Cruise Terminal. The only negative was that the disembarkation felt crowded as they kept calling new groups even while there were still long lines waiting to disembark from the previous called groups.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

Well taken care of cabin. We were in a port-side balcony and most port calls had us waking up to a views of the port or city out of our cabin window following the a night of sailing. Plenty of storage room, bathrooms layout was nice with a shower on the right and the toilet on the left with the sink/mirror in the middle. Bedding was super comfortable as we remembered from a previous Norwegian cruise. Bath towels were a larger size.
