Sail Date: Apr 2023

We really loved the sailing element of this Mediterranean cruise, and the feel of being on a small ship. The sails were up most of the time, although I’m not sure how much of our journey was carried out under pure sail rather than ‘motor-sailing’, because of course they do have to keep to schedule.

Star Flyer is a beautiful, elegant ship – lots of brass and varnished wood, and neatly coiled ropes – and seems to be carefully maintained.

Our cabin was compact (as expected), but very well designed, so we found a place for everything. The décor is nautical and beautiful, with lovely polished wood furniture. The bathroom also was surprisingly good considering its size. The shower was adequate and the hot water was consistent; and again, there was good stowage space for toiletries. Our cabin steward came twice each day while we were at breakfast and dinner, and provided a superb service – Everything was kept spotless, towels and toiletries replaced, and the bed turned back in the evening.
