We have a friend who cruised Carnival Radiance twice and told us great things! Unfortunately, our experience didn't meet the expectations we had. Upon arrival, our cabin wasn't sanitized, but we had clean linen. The self-serve buffet was hospital food at best (I know because I cooked for one). My husband and I traveled with our 15 year old son who checked out the O2 Club on a daily and nightly basis, but would return to the cabin reporting either the club wasn't open, nobody was there or they weren't doing anything. The weather was continuously in the 60's, unfortunately, so he wasn't pool bound. He basically paced the ship for 3 days, randomly grabbing bread and ice cream from the buffet (we have a picky eater as mom is chef). We took a shuttle to tour some of Ensanada, Mexico which was a lot of fun! Wish we could have had more time in Mexico and less time with a day out to sea. The cruise seemed to attract a certain clientele as EVERY night people in our hall, and neighbors across the hall, would be up to all hours screaming obscenities at each other and fighting. We'd wake up to a mess outside our cabin of plates, cups, cutlery. These types of people have NO respect. But our cabin steward was absolutely amazing! All the crew were so friendly and helpful! The Cruise Director was a little creepy, but he tried to make things sound fun. Will not be traveling Carnival in the future and will look to upgrade to a ship that attracts a more respectable crowd, and offers a better cuisine.
State room was dated and dusty, but for the most part taken care of. The curtains are gross, bed frames are not cleaned, drawers are dirty and dusty and our mini fridge had hair in it and was barely cool. Bedding was clean and bed very comfortable.
