We recently sailed on the Viking Jarl as part of a family birthday celebration. We were a bit hesitant going into the trip as we have never done a river cruise before and had heard they catered to an older crowd. We assumed we would be slowed down a bit in ports and on tours and would have little to do on the ship. We couldn't have been more wrong! While the average age is absolutely older than you would find on an ocean cruise, the Jarl and its crew made this experience one we will never forget. From the greeting you receive on boarding, to showing you to your stateroom, to the ease of getting on and off the ship, this is first class all the way. The cabin service and the dining experiences only heightened the already fantastic level of comfort and service. Jennifer, Gunter, the entire dining and bar staff, the guest services team, and the cabin stewards are all superb in every way! We will absolutely be repeat customers!
