The Celebrity Beyond was, well beyond my high expectations. Wow, it is an awesome ship and crew. The ship was amazing, beautiful with a modern and thoughtful design. It felt like an lux resort at sea! Although a large ship, it never felt crowed and was there were many places to relax and enjoy the cruise. I especially enjoyed the Cafe al Bacio and Martini bar central area of the ship. Whether sipping a great coffee drink in the morning along with a tasty pastry to listening to live music in the afternoon or dancing in the evening it was the heart and soul of the ship. Our infinite veranda balcony stateroom was roomy, comfortable and very classy. The food from the buffet to the four main dining rooms were excellent. My family and I rotated through each of the four main dining rooms twice during the cruise. The service was very good, the food quality was excellent and the portion sizes perfect. Although the food in the main dining was excellent, by the end of the 9-night cruise I had exhausted the different menu choices available. I did not try the specialty dining, the prices seem steep for what was offered and the main dining room along with the buffet provided great food and service. The crew was outstanding, always friendly, professional and engaging. Celebrity Beyond's entertainment was very good and with a wide variety of venues and performers. One thing of note for the cruise that I really enjoyed was the lack of up selling on the cruise. Besides a few attempts to entice specialty dining, there were no annoying photographers, or sales people from the shops, onshore "shopping advisors", or a push for shore excursions. Overall, I highly recommend the ship for adults (couples, friends and solo travelers). We hope to sail on Celebrity Beyond in the future.
The cabin was very roomy and comfortable. The bathroom and shower were especially nice with a large shower and a streamlined sink area that was very efficient. The cabin's decor was a cool modern theme with muted tan and beige colors. There is plenty of storage, hanging closets, and drawers along with electrical outlets. The beds were super comfortable and the lighting well designed. I was especially impressed by the Celebrity App that you could easily control the cabin's lighting, window, and TV. The cabin did not have traditional balcony. The "infinite veranda" provided for more room, privacy, and tons of light in the cabin. The window (infinite veranda) worked exceptionally well providing wide open floor to ceiling lighting that also could be top half could be opened. I think it worked great and did not miss traditional balcony of previous ships I had sailed on.
Beautiful, fun, and great food. My family hired a private guide and we toured the old town, enjoyed an olive oil and wine tasting, visited a monastery, and drove across the island to explore the beautiful beaches and had a great lunch at a local seaside restaurant.
Magical medieval city. Unfortunately the town was crowded and hot. My family and I explored a very interesting restaurant out of town a bit and enjoyed delicious Croatian "peka" grilled cuisine. Next, we embarked on a private tour of the Dalmatian Riviera that was fun, relaxed, and informative with no crowds.
Wow! What a charming and absolutely beautiful small city. My family and I went on a local walking and food tour of Kotor. What a great experience, such fun and exceptional food! Next, my wife and I climbed up the steep mountain trail to a small church - amazing views. Kotor was hands-down my family's favorite port!
A cool "beachy" Greek island. We hired a private guide that took us on a fun tour of an olive oil factory. Next, we took a four hour boat ride along the beautiful coast with sparking blue waters seeing sea turtles and swimming along the secluded cliffs. So much fun!
We took a private tour of the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii. These were the "bucket list" and must see places for the entire cruise. We selected this cruise because it pulled into Naples. The Amalfi coast was stunning and the town of Positano delightful . Unfortunately, there was a rock slide along the narrow and winding coast road that created a hour long traffic jam. It reduced our time in Pompeii, but what we experienced at the site was spectacular.
Wow! Such a fun and relaxed port to visit. We hired a private guide to take my family on an all-day tour of the hill town of Volterra and the Bolgheri wine region. The countryside was amazing, Volterra was super-cool with it's fairy castle vibe while the small village of Bolgheri was a joy to shop and dine. We enjoyed a great lunch at a restaurant in Bolgheri then wine tasting at a local winery. We all fell in love with Tuscany!
