Chose Carnival because our 30 year old son with special needs loves the nightlife. Have done several Carnival cruises because of that, and dozens of cruises on other lines, but first time on Freedom. I’m writing this review here because we never got our survey from Carnival, even after asking their Guest Services for it (not good). Our room, a rear balcony on deck 6, was nice. “I Made” was a great stateroom attendant. All meal servers were great, including Jose Alfonso, Ronald from Peru, and Alyssa. Unfortunately, the food quality has gone downhill since our last Carnival cruise, though our expectations are never very high on this line. Dinner selections in the dining room were not very good. They even had Fried Chicken on the menu twice - nuff said. We were longing to be back on RCL, or Holland. The only bright spot was the desserts, and Guy Fieri burgers (yum). But who wants to eat burgers all week on a cruise? Other than that, we had rough weather heading to the Bahamas, and the ship rolled about 15 degrees one night. The Captain never came on the PA system to tell us what was going on, as passengers lunged everywhere, and plates and glasses were flying. Very unnerving, and the roll took a long time to correct. The Captain also decided not to tender us to Princess Cay the next day - very disappointed. I didn’t think the seas were that bad. On a good note, I won $1K on a slot in the casino, so that was fun, and our son partied every night in the nightclub until the wee hours. Lastly, it took us almost two hours to exit the parking garage at Port Canaveral. Inexcusable! Shame on the Port Authority.

Cabin Review

Rear balcony room on deck 6 was nice. We’d book the room again, especially since we had some rough weather and the aft room was fairly calm.
