My husband and I are usually independent when it comes to vacations and we usually fly to Europe, rent a car, and manage our own itineraries and visits to places of interest. We had heard of Viking Cruises for many years and while we would never book a cruise on a large 'floating city', the size and scale of the river cruise ships seemed to be manageable for us. We had originally booked this specific 'Elegant Elbe' cruise a few years ago and we did postpone twice, once to Covid and the second time due to our concern over the Ukraine situation.
Finally knew that Spring 2023 was the date! What a great experience! Our hotels on both ends of the trip were of the highest quality. Unfortunately, we encountered only one problem. We were sent to the incorrect hotel upon our arrival in Prague on the first night. This error was handled to our satisfaction post trip. On the ship, we booked a cabin with balcony and were totally surprised at the luxurious nature of the cabin, the size of the bathroom area. The crew of the ship was totally dedicated to ensuring our every wish was granted.
The food was fabulous, and wines impeccable. (We did have a few 'credits' due to postponement of our cruise, and one of our credits went to the Silver Spirits package which included top shelf wines and liquors. We are wine drinkers only and the wines we enjoyed were superb.
I'm not quite sure which Letter our room was but we were in a Veranda Stateroom on the Beyla, built specifically for sailing on the Elbe.
