Having sailed on Serenade of the Seas in February and having such a great time we decided to return to Serenade in May for my Birthday. We enjoyed this cruise even more than the one in February, the ship just keeps getting better and better! They have been painting exterior decks, installing new aft awnings, varnishing deck rails, honestly, the ship looks brand new. Ships interior is spotless, public restrooms always clean. The crew were truly phenomenal, my goodness we could not have had a better table in the MDR, next to a large window and with the best ever waitress May, she was truly the very best, we became like family and hated to say goodbye at the end. Assistant waiter Adrian, Head Waiter Remzi were top notch. Stateroom Denny was perfect, he noticed we had brought along a Royal Caribbean teddy bear collection so he made us a towel bear teddy bear to add to our collection. He would always stop whatever he was doing to say hi and talk with us and ask us if everything was ok with our cabin. Photo Shop Manager Carolee was very friendly and helpful and would always talk and say hi whenever we passed the Photo Gallery. This ship has a beautiful heart and soul because of its friendly crew, from deck maintenance, housekeeping to the Dining Supervisors and Captain. I was very happy with the Windjammer selections and variety, the Indian dishes and beef stews were amazing. MDR service and food were all tasty and arrived quickly and at appropriate room temperature. The beef dishes in the MDR were all excellent. If you wanted two appetizers or another entre they were always happy to bring them to you. The entertainment in the Tropic Theater was awesome, such talent from the singers and dancers, props, costumes are always spectacular on Royal Caribbean. One of the things I love best about Royal Caribbean's entertainment is the live band. Music throughout the ship in the evening in the Safari Room and Schooner Bar were also great. Activities were diverse and varied and I found so much to enjoy I never read the book I brought from home. I will return to Serenade of the Seas very soon, I see why they chose this ship for their World Cruise, its truly a delight to sail on.

Cabin Review

Ocean View

Stateroom was right next to the aft glass elevator lobby and was very quiet, I never heard a thing. Right outside our door was an express glass elevator with direct access to the Viking Crown Lounge which we loved. The single small port hole provided light and a nice nautical touch in this day and age of balcony cabins. It was well maintained, carpet, curtains were very clean and looked new. The bathroom had no rust and was spotless and shined. I would stay on Deck 2 again without hesitation.

Port Reviews

Falmouth

We did the shore excursion to Chukka Eco Estate at Good Hope. We enjoyed the countryside drive and our visit. It's located alongside a beautiful tropical small river. The staff were friendly and helpful but never bothering or pushing sales. The pool and waterfall are a great place to cool off.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

We took a Royal Caribbean Shore Excursion which a West Side Island Tour which was great and gave us a nice over view of Grand Cayman.

Labadee

We chose to do Labadee on our own this time and just enjoy the hammocks and barbeque. We had a great time relaxing and enjoying our day on this beautiful Haitian peninsula. Coco Cay and Labadee are always ports I look forward to because everything is clean, food, drinks good and no traffic or public beaches where there is trash or people pushing to braid your hair or sell you something you don't want.
