Honestly, I had really low expectations for this cruise after reading reviews on here, but it was close, and our first cruise back after Covid. I can't believe how bad the reviews are of this amazing ship! Yes, a little older, but well maintained in my opinion, and so much to do! Walking deck 8 in the garden was beautiful, and you had many options of places to go and things to do. The service on the boat was impeccable. We've cruised a few times now, never on RC, and were surprised how quickly we were able to get drinks, or anything else we needed. Our room attendant was also amazing!

We did the specialty dining package after reading reviews that the food was bad, so I can't comment on the food in the main dining. However, all the specialty restaurants (besides Chops, which we found extremely sub-par) were absolutely amazing. I would have to say Giovanni's was my favorite.

The not so good- we are a couple in our 40's, both of our kids are grown, and 80% of the boat was geared towards kids. If you have kids, this boat is perfect! For us though, not so much. The other problem we had was with so many people on the boat, we couldn't really get into any of the shows without massive planning. So, while we definitely enjoyed the boat, and may cruise again on RC when our grandchildren are a little older, for us we are going back to Celebrity.

Port Reviews

Roatan

First port, did the Jolly Rancher Catamaran excursion. Roatan was HOT, which is to be expected, but with our mild weather it was pretty miserable. The snorkeling was out of this world though, and we were out there an hour, so in my mind completely worth it. I do wish they had more shade on the catamaran though, and the boat operators weren't as fun as other excursions we've done like this

Costa Maya

Wasn't super impressed with this port. I think there might be a hotel close by with a beach, but otherwise you need to drive about 1.5 hours to your excursion. We did the chill out river rafting... meh. It was hot, the actual swimming part of the excursion wasn't refreshing because the water was too shallow and hot. Overall I wish we had stayed on the boat, or found a beach closer to the port if there was one.

Cozumel

By far our favorite! We didn't spend a ton of time at the port itself, but it looked like good shopping and food. We did the ATV ride and Cenote here, and that was absolutely amazing! Great trails, we were able to go pretty fast (there was a second group for beginners to go slow), and the cenote was super refreshing! This was probably my #1 excursion of all time, and if I ever port in Cozumel again, I'll do this one again
