We chose the cruise because we’ve travelled with NCL several times and we had found the food, service and quality superb. We’d been in the Haven on the Jade and considering it’s an old ship we were so impressed with the service and quality. So we decided as we have toddler, going in the Haven would be a great ease to us. We spent 13k on a 10 day cruise. The itinerary changed multiple times before the cruise and we had a pretty uneventful stopover in Livorno. Not the prettiest dock and not a great location.
The suite services are poor. The butler - I’m not sure what he actually did. He told us on our welcome that if we ordered drinks with him then a room charge would be added. Periodically we’d get an afternoon snack but he left some stale cookies and some bar nuts in the room for several days. He did not ask or request to do any dining reservations or excursions. So complete waste of money. I asked for cartons of water which I was told I’d be charged for. There is definitely a preference to serve the American and Canadian guests over European guests so just be warned. The “posh beach deck” the extra outside space is so underwhelming it’s embarrassing.
The speciality dining - Teppanaki and Cuccina was so so poor.
Haven - the toilet is enclosed and the smell is unbearable.
Butler and concierge service is below expectations
