To begin, we spoke to numerous staff members who shared how severely understaffed they were on this ship for our trip. Room service took hours to complete and, that was IF you were lucky enough, they actually came. Guests we spoke with all joked about how useless the medallion app was when ordering anything. People were getting their food and drinks the following day or items that were not at the correct temperatures. Bar service on the pool deck (15) was an hour plus each time. My party resorted to ordering multiple drinks at once simply to avoid wasting our entire day standing in a line. The buffet food was sub-par and the diversity of options was lacking. None of the ice machines ever worked. Guests were scooping ice out of buckets during mealtimes. It was gross.

Perhaps however, the most disappointing aspect was the treatment of my family by both the medical staff and senior officers. My son had gotten food poisoning on day two by a clearly bad piece of fish. It was unfortunate and we understood that sometimes things happen. We felt as though the responsible thing to do was report the information to guest services promptly the next morning. We were not asking for anything at that point, we simply just desired for them to know in the event other guests had reported the same thing. We were met with resistance from the gate. They did not acknowledge the possibility of any kind of food poisoning and immediately treated us all as if we were struck with Ebola. We were harassed the entire week about sanitizing his room, and he was in bed all 5 days of our family vacation. A vacation we had been planning since Oct of 2022. Senior officers followed us around the ship, knocked on our door and phoned our room, to the point it was becoming uncomfortable. We took our son to medical which was an absolute joke. The Dr. never opened a case, never tested for anything, never took blood or even gave him any medication to appease his symptoms.

We had no idea how serious they flagged my son's profile until we went to disembark yesterday in LA. We were met with an aggressive security force DETAINING US in an American Port until their doctor cleared my son to leave. The very same Dr that took no diagnostic testing just a few days earlier. They had NO right to do this to American citizens and they didn't care. Not until we started talking about a lawsuit to which at that time, a senior officer got in my son's face and threatened to blacklist him. My husband told the officer to go ahead and list the whole family.
