We wanted a nice relaxing time with some wonderful scenery and we had a lot of our own excursions planned like whalewatching etc. Due to extreme weather three ports in Iceland were cancelled and it did spoil the trip. The other issue was that two of the ports that we did manage to get into in Norway were closed for the day, due to national holidays. Now the cruise line should be aware of this and not schedule a huge cruise ship into a small place where nothing is opened - call me a cynic but perhaps they just wanted to sell their own expensive excursions!

Overall the ship is nice, the staff are generally helpful and cheerful and the entertainment does have something for everyone. Warwick Davis was on board and this proved to be very interesting. We attended his talk and also saw him a lot around the ship. We were lucky and had a suite, but being at the back of the ship in extreme weather is not good - so that's not happening again! Note to self - midship, low down only. We ate in the main dining room which was fine. We ate at the preium restaurants - Crown Grill, very good - Sabatini's - not great very salty undercooked pasta - how can you get pasta wrong in an Italian themed restaurant. The Catch which is the new featured restaurant does have a lot of catching up to due (sorry pardon the pun) - cold food, very pushy waiters - asking us for our dessert choice when taking our starter and main choice. Food was really only average and we complained - the meal was comped, but when we went back the second time, we were not acknowledged and the food was as bad. Shame as it could be really nice. We are back on the ship in October and hope for a better experience. The entertainment staff were really good and there was something for everyone - quizzes, shows, music everywhere, zumba, classes in martini making - you name it you could do it on board. Due to the cancelled ports everyone was given a 20% cruise credit - which was appreciated.

Two things about this ship that stand out - its really cold everywhere you go - so take a wrap because in some area's its freezing - come on Princess turn the heating up a bit!! Also the music in the main area's like the piazza is so loud - you can't have a conversation in say Vines if the band is playing or someone is singing - please Princess adjust the volume.

Cabin Review

Suite with Balcony

The cabin was very nice - kept very clean and all of the toiletries where kept topped up. Can't fault the service from our steward either, but we hardly saw him. That's fine with us but some suite customers might like a little more attention
