We took this cruise because of the ports and the unique itinerary, sailing from Miami to Montreal. We were excited because the excursions were included, so we didn’t have to arrange them ourselves. Before the ship left Miami, the Great Stirrup Cay port was cancelled, as well as Fernandina Beach, and Freeport, Bahamas and Jacksonville, FL were substituted. Freeport was a rundown port, and the excursions were terrible. We were very disappointed. Jacksonville was another let down. We were left for an hour in an area with very little to do. Our excursion was supposed to include a brewery tour, but we were told by our guide that the brewery tour was discontinued three years ago. Yet, it was included in the Regent tour description. The tours in Port Canaveral were very good, and those ports didn’t change. Next up we’re Hamilton and St George, Bermuda. The ship spent both days in Hamilton, due to engine problems. Our tour on day one in Hamilton was cancelled. From Hamilton, we went to Halifax, Nova Scotia. The original tour we booked was cancelled. We ended up on a tour to Peggy’s Cove. We spent more time on the bus than we did at the destination. The next day we went to Sydney. Again, we spent more time on the bus than at our destination, which was a Gaelic village in the mountains. The next stop was supposed to be New Foundland, which was one of the reasons we took the cruise. This port was cancelled, supposedly due to icebergs in mid-May, and we went to Prince Edward Island instead. We did a very enjoyable walking and food tour of the port. We continued to Saguenay, and then Quebec City. Saguenay was charming, and the hiking in the national park was lovely. We chose an upgraded tour to Quebec City. The tour was not as described in the write-up and Regent gave us a partial refund. Regent needs to do more screening of their tour operators.

Our room was a category E veranda. The room was immaculate and our stateroom attendant was outstanding. We took advantage of the laundry service, and our laundry was done quickly and returned neatly folded. The shower was delightful. We had coffee and croissants from room service a few times, and the coffee was hot and it was served when requested.

The food was good, but could have been better. Sometimes we were served quickly and sometimes we waited quite a while. Several times, the soup was lukewarm, as were some of the entrees. The service was really uneven.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Suite

Our cabin was spacious and well maintained. It could use more USB ports and electrical outlets. The bathroom was well designed and the shower was wonderful.

Port Reviews

Long bus ride to city. Not much to see or do

Beautiful city. Lots to see and do. Went to Magnolia Gardens.

So clean and friendly. Beautiful waterfront. Easy to walk around.

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Went to Kennedy Space Center. Better than Disney World. So much to see and do.

Sydney (Australia)

Sydney, Nova Scotia - Charming town, but not much to see. Bus ride to Gaelic village in the highlands took too long

Saguenay Fjord

Fascinating port. Freezes over in the winter and they have ice fishing structures and a whole town on the ice. The national park is about a 35 minute ride, but the scenery there is definitely worth it
