My husband I have been long time Formula 1 fans for well over 10 years or more. We each turned 50 during the pandemic and couldn’t celebrate it properly. Going to watch the F1 Monaco Grand Prix is high up on our bucket list, so when we found out about cruises that go to Monaco during the Grand Prix weekend, we were very excited! I did a lot of research over the winter about all the cruise lines that go there and pricing. We settled on Azamara as the best price per value. This year there was a bonus extra day in Monaco on the Saturday so we could watch FP 3 and Qualifying, plus the race on Sunday. Although we booked rather late in February of this year, we’re glad to have done it! The Azamara White Night party was held the evening of the race on Sunday, so it was like partying with all the rich and famous in the harbour of Monaco with all the other fancy yachts! And we were looking DOWN at all of them in their much smaller boats
We booked rather late so we ended up with an obstructed view cabin. However, when we were in port, which was almost every day, the tender boat in front of our window was lowered so we had a clear view of the land. When the ship was in Monaco, we woke up to a gorgeous million dollar view of the royal palace on the sheer rocky cliffs! It was breathtaking! Our cabin, although it didn’t have a couch and it’s a bit smaller than the normal oceanview cabins, it was still very comfortable. Plenty of drawers and closet space. 2 metal hooks on the wall to hang bags. Although the shower stall is narrow, the pressure was good and we managed to keep the water from spraying into the rest of the bathroom. It was very quiet, able to sleep undisturbed.
We got robbed before in Barcelona, so we don’t want to come back here again. There are a lot of beautiful buildings there. But not interested in seeing them again. Too busy with tourists.
