Sail Date: May 2023
Cabin: Mid-ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

I’ve taken many cruises before, but not in the past 9 years. My preference usually in the past was Royal Caribbean until they sent us a really old ship, Explorer of the Seas, back in 2014. My room smelled couldn't figure out what it was and realized on my last day that my mattress pad had blood all over it. I was disguised!!!! I was in a balcony room and the cost was 5k just for the room. That turned me off of cruising for a while. I’m a little fussy I like clean new rooms, not worn out spaces. I found that the cruise ships that I have sailed on out of NY/NJ seem to always be a little too old or not a good fit for where we are traveling to. The Norwegian Joy should be a ship where you are stopping at a Port every day. This ship is not for 3 days in port and 4 days at sea. I will never go on this ship again if there are not more than 4 ports to visit.

Bermuda is beautiful and if you haven’t visited it yet you need to it was the only port that we went to other than leaving out of New York.

The ship itself, the ship is not meant to be at sea for more than one day. The ship was made for a different area, I think Alaska. There is nearly no entertainment compared to what you are used to on other ships. The main area on this ship was the casino. I’m a gambler, so it was perfect for me, but other than that it was boring. I’ve never been on a ship that had so little entertainment. I believe there are more rooms on this ship than entertainment spaces. If you sail on this you will see for yourself. I was with 3 other couples and we all felt the same way. I would never go on a Norwegian joy ship again unless I was visiting an island almost every day. This ship should not be in NY. We need a ship that has a big entertainment area. If you’re going to take two days to get to your destination it has to have more space for entertainment.

Cabin Review

Mid-ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

The cabin was perfect little small for a club suite balcony, 11th floor, but it was the biggest bathroom I ever had and the double sink and shower were perfect. I’m pretty picky when it comes to cleanliness in a room and I felt it was OK when we arrived on board, my room was not ready when I arrived late at 5 p.m. Because the rooms are fairly brand new, you really can’t see all the dust or dirt in the corners, but I did. I’m a little fussy when it comes to any hotel room I stay in. I wipe them down with disinfectant and bring my own bedding, so there you go. I thought the bed was comfortable though.
