I had sailed on the Sky Princess last June and found the service to be poor to average only - short staffed and some lack of training was evident. But this time, although the ship was at capacity, service much improved, and the food better quality (and, at last, hotter!). Only saw one show and spent all my time in the evenings in the jazz club, Take 5. Jazz trio out of this world, you would pay a lot of money to see them in 'the real world', bar staff superb. Inside cabin fine and kept immaculately by the steward. Badly affected by storms in the second week, to Iceland, and had to miss 3 ports - a shame, I had set my heart on seeing the 'bubbling mud'. Enjoyed the International cafe, open 24Hrs and again the service was very good, but pointed out a flaw in the process to a supervisor which explained why the coffee wasn't as hot as it could have been, but all improved the next day.
The three negatives. The reception front desk is dreadful, the staff do not fully understand English and too often I was given wrong or conflicting information. Secondly, the Captain - it seems no-one could understand a single word he said - quite funny, when he gave a storm update there was a rush to find staff who could translate for us.
Because of the missed ports we were all given future cruise credit of 20% of the cruise price which I thought was very generous, after all they are not responsible for the weather conditions.
Inside cabin, 10 deck, aft, absolutely fine, except for the banging coat hangers on stormy nights.
Lovely little village and a very pleasant walk into the main area.
