I have been a loyal customer of NCL since the early 2000s, but I must express my extreme disappointment with my recent cruise experience.
To begin with, the embarkation process on the first day was an absolute nightmare and, quite frankly, DANGEROUS! The unorganized chaos and long lines created a sense of chaos and confusion. The lack of leadership and clear instructions only exacerbated the situation. People were pushing and shoving their way through doors, with some individuals even resorting to cutting in line causing tensions to flare. The scene was chaotic and tense and staff members struggled to regain control. To make matters worse, there was a complete lack of provisions such as food and water for the guests who had been waiting for hours. It was an appalling way to start a vacation and left a lasting negative impression.
Secondly, our room, which was on a completely different floor than when we had initially booked was situated next to the service elevator where every piece of guest luggage on the ship was loaded and unloaded. This unfortunate placement meant that every night, we were subjected to a constant stream of noise. The resulting disturbance made it nearly impossible to sleep. This ship was so overbooked that we were told there was absolutely no way for us to be moved to a different room.
A dirty sharps container was left in our cabin bathroom along with an open bottle of water with lipstick on the rim when we arrived the first day. It was as if the stewards were forced to rush to clean all of the rooms for incoming guests.
