This was our 10th cruise, our 3rd on Princess and we are a married couple in our late 40's. We were a little worried about cruising during spring break time but never saw more than a handful of kids on board - no problem at all. Also, although others have mentioned it, we didn't notice an unusual number of locals on board and everyone we met, of any race or nationality, was polite and well-behaved.

Embarkation: We took a chance and flew in from Atlanta on the day of embarkation since the cruise didn't depart until 11:00pm. We arrived on schedule at 1:15pm and took a taxi to the cruise terminal ($19 + $1 per piece of luggage). Thought we might die on the way to the port (taxi driver was speeding, weaving in and out of traffic, and talking on his cellphone) but we finally made it safely. This was about 2:15pm and there was absolutely no one else checking in at that time. Within 5 minutes we were boarding the ship and in our cabin.

Cabin: Our cabin, A420, was an inside cabin on Deck 12 (Aloha), just forward of the midship elevators. This location was as high as we've ever been but we felt no movement at all in the cabin. The cabin appeared to be in good shape, with the exception of the tile on the bathroom floor which had some dirty and broken grout. The bedding was good (eggcrate and top sheet were on the bed as we had requested via fax) and the duvet was soft and comfortable. The bed, while firmer than we're accustomed to, wasn't "as hard as a rock" and we slept great all week. The layout of the cabin was a little awkward in the bathroom/closet area (the bathroom door opened into the area where the closet/shelves/safe was located and was often in the way) but there was lots of storage.
