This was a 10-day itinerary around Japan, and we stayed aboard for nearly three weeks after while the ship sailed across the North Pacific, through the Aleutians and down the Inner Passage to Vancouver.

Excellent cabin, restaurant, and cruise director staff. Entertainment & onboard speakers good (especially Gloeta, the Naturalist).

We booked both Regent's pre-cruise "Vibrant Tokyo" package at the Tokyo Hilton, as well as the post-cruise "Very Vancouver" package at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Both were something of a disappointment. Vibrant Tokyo was overbooked in my opinion, leading to disorganization when boarding tour buses, and English-speaking ability of guides was not what I had hoped. I also wish that they had offered more specific suggestions and assistance in planning our free time. I've had much better land tour experiences with other tour companies. This land experience definitely did not match the shipboard experience.

Cabin Review

Penthouse Suite

(Penthouse A). Fantastic cabin, housekeeping and butler service. BUT... we had a few rough days at sea, and paid the price for being on Deck 14. All cabins on this deck are forward, and thus the rocking front-to-back, and swaying side-to-side were probably the most exaggerated on the ship. There was a clearly notable difference between our cabin on Deck 14 and the public areas on Decks 4 & 5. Although the passageways on our deck were beautiful with little traffic, we'll likely choose a similar cabin on a lower deck next time.

Port Reviews

Dutch Harbor

Didn't get to see anything, because there was inadequate hop-on hop-off bus service to get us into town
