I have always wanted to see the Islands, my daughter passed in December and her heritage is fraternal side is Hawaiian. The cruise started off at LA port we were with the wheelchairs as my sister has had 2 back surgery's and Knee replacement also can not feel her legs so anytime up slants is dangerous for her. While waiting were informed most people didn't need this help only used to get at front of line, this was not princess but port authority. State room was lovely and Nigel our steward was heaven sent. Having a wonderful time. First port we did not book a tour for this Island leaving ship was a nightmare, no help or anyone there to help us or answer our questions thank goodness for passengers that had been there before. I have no problems with the destinations or any part of the cruise so far. Last destination in Hawaii got back on ship sister is not feeling well chills cough tired. I tested her COVID called medical and reported it they tested her and myself she was positive myself negative. Told she was in isolation (of Course) I was told they could put me in another cabin and as long as I wore a mask I was free to go out as if I would leave her. (really). So next day I was positive reported to medical. Medical has no medicine except Robtusson, we were in really bad shape. Ordered from room service for 6 days not once did the order come right or warm, bread was stale the last two days, they told us we could order from main dining room (2) at least 20 times from service , the funniest was our hot tea they brought everything but forgot the water in the pot called never got the hot water and the tea was the only thing helping our throat felt like we had swallowed glass. Medical called every day asked how we were. Getting ready to leave the ship the day before they told us they would pick up our luggage and we got a notice under our door we were cleared but never tested. I was still positive I brought test kits with us. sister and I picked up by security and told she couldn't have a wheel chair and to keep up mind you I have our carry on and trying to help her only told to hurry up. At elevator so many people with the brown tags. We all were thrown out on dock told we could not get on shuttle and to quit blocking entrance and to take our suitcases and leave we asked where and the woman pointed about 3 1/2 blocks down we would catch a cab, if not for another passenger i had 4 bags plus carry on plus sister who was slow and wobbly on her walker. I was told we would be getting a credit for 6 days of isolation missing shuttle we were already paid for but nothing. When we needed help most we were treated like dirt and this is not the staff but the upper officers released but never seen how can you release a COVID person into the wind with a release saying we are OK without symptoms without testing. So no refund but quick to debit my account for everything else. Before we got sick we were going to book our next cruise to Europe, but after this sister said it would be awhile before she would get back on a cruise. Both of us are retired from the service industry and both have been in upper management so to get a bad review from us you really have to screw up because we know sometimes things just go wrong and you accept that. I don't like being treated and lied to like myself and my sister were. Your staff was wonderful from captains in dining room to servers to our room steward its when we really needed you, for information. Or when we caught COVID that everything went downhill.
Steward was fantastic I don't know how to thank him, he kept a distancewhen we were in isolation but would ask from afar if we needed anything he left us extra blankets brought ice, clean sheets and towels left on our table for us to pick up when we opened door.
This is the Gaarden of Eden wonderful people and the best Hawaian ice at MIKEYS
