MSC Seascape Review

Much improved! They listen to and still care about their customers. Adding new things, not taking away.

SHIP/CABIN: The ship was one of the most beautiful, modern, clean ships we've ever been on. It really is a work of art. Our balcony stateroom was spacious and we loved the shower--strong and correct temperature--which also had one glass door and a foot bar (for shaving). In addition to the spacious closet, there were two roomy drawers and three shelves. Our stateroom attendant, Marino, in addition to keeping our cabin very clean, was always nearby and available to help us. He was so attentive providing us with extra pillows, towels etc.in a very timely manner. We wish he could be our stateroom attendant on all of our cruises!

ENTERTAINMENT: There was a different show in the main theater every night. We saw a huge difference in quality between what we saw in February and on this cruise. The new choreography was much needed. It was faster, more complex and the new group of skilled singers and dancers did an amazing job. They also fixed some technical problems with the video/backgrounds. The high energy, enthusiastic and talented cast combined with the top notch choreography made for fun, exciting shows. The only show that wasn't as good was the first show which still had the older cast members. The director/choreographer did an outstanding job creating precise transitions between the different numbers during a show as the performers--seemingly effortlessly--transitioned into each new piece. It was a pleasure to watch these shows this time. It seems like MSC listened to the comments and made the necessary changes to improve all of the shows.

There is also a different venue called the Cabaret Rouge where you can sit in comfortable chairs and watch a variety of performers. We saw musicians, a magician and a juggler/comedian. The juggler/comedian repeated his act on multiple days. We would have liked to see the magician on the main stage as he changed his show each day we attended. The best performer at the Cabaret Rouge by far is the host/singer, Sammulous. He has an absolutely amazing voice and great energy as he is supported by the talented MSC band.

Cabin Review

spacious, clean, beautiful balcony cabin. Especially love the shower!

Port Reviews

Cozumel

Great shopping port! Good deals from souvenirs to jewelry. MSC and Norwegian share the best dock closest to the two story open air shopping complex and many other shops. Royal Caribbean and Carnival share the other dock farther away.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Nice, clean port, but you have to get on a tender to get there. They should build a dock so that tenders are no longer needed. Other than that, the port feels safe, clean and there is a nice variety of shops.

Ocho Rios

Felt dirty and unsafe. Panhandlers there. Two small shopping areas, but vendors are uncomfortably pushy.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve

Beautiful beaches, nice lighthouse, and I love that only one MSC ship can be there at a time. Good to hear that they are almost done with the construction of another much needed food pavillion because the wait for the lunch buffet was too long.
