We choose Alaska to check off our bucket list. Over all we had a great experience, good food and wonderful excursions. I have cruised with Carnival for over 20 years and this is my 6th cruise. Had this been my 1st cruise it probably would have been my last, I did not like the ship and how the Lido deck was set up. To eat up there we had to stand in long slow lines and seating to eat was at times impossible to find. One day we walked around the dining area twice and finally went to our room to eat our now cold food. After standing in long lines you were given a hard time if you requested more than the half scoop of a portion they dished and I over heard a fellow passenger say they were told to get back in line once they finished what they were given. The eating area also only had food for short amounts of time, the pizza Station was the longest to be open. The crew was great and the excursions were amazing!
We had the your time dining and had to use an app to reserve our table, at times we had to wait over an hour to get a table. It was definitely the slowest service we have ever experienced on a cruise. It would take at least 30 minutes to get served most days in the dining room.
Cabin was exactly as expected, soft comfy linens and clean.
The Whale watching and wildlife tour was great. We got back from our excursion and a lot of the shops closed by 6 or 8 so we missed going to them.
We did the crabbing excursion on the Aleutian Ballard, by far our favorite excursion! We got to hold live sea creatures and the crew were amazing!
