Iam a seasoned cruiser that have cruised around Australia and the world over the past 25 years. This cruise ship is the worst that I have experienced. During the cruise I was aware of the lack of hygiene protocols on board and was constantly washing my hands with soap and water when ever possible and also using the hand sanitizer in the buffet and food area. On the second day after arriving home I tested positive for Covid 19. Unlike a lot of ships, the Splendor does not have compulsory hand washing stations going into buffet or restaurants, does not have continuous cleaning of hand rails on stair wells or public lifts in fact I saw very little cleaning of the ship in general which I consider leads to a breeding ground for Covid 19.
My second horrified experience was at the Black Pearl restaurant. As we were lead to our table I noticed there was no table cloth and just one set of cutlery. After finishing my entree ( appetizer ) the waiter took my knife and fork off my plate and placed it on the bread and butter plate ready for my main meal. looking around at other tables this was a common practice .This is not what I would call Fine Dining Experience and would regard this protocol as disgusting.
The food aboard this ship would be considered average and the Lido buffet was as I called it Ground Hog Day dinning. Breakfast, lunch and Dinner was the same selections every day in the same position with the same food just warm never hot. I did enjoy Guy,s Burgers and the Deli without them I think I might have gone hungry.
forward of midships. The cabin was comfortable but the refrigerator was not working well. The cabin is prone to loud music coming up from deck 3 Lobby deck during late night entertainment this is due to the bad design of the ship.
