First things first. Husband is 70, I’m 62. 68 cruises on various cruise lines. We have been sailing since the 80’s. We have been on 9 cruises since the restart. Most have been disappointing. Food quality and service has definitely gone downhill. I will say we enjoyed Celebrity, Royal and Carnival not so much. People on these cruises raved about how much they enjoyed Virgin. We were hesitant to book due to what we believed was the demographic. We were wrong.
We decided on a transatlantic on the Valiant Lady. Boarding was delayed to to a certain star/diva onboard filming a commercial. Jennifer Lopez did not want any passengers or crew around her while they filmed. Once her butt was off the boat we were finally able to board. The Valiant lady is a beautiful ship. Understated elegance. The venues are well decorated and the rooms, while somewhat IKEA esq. are comfortable and well layer out.
Small bathroom, but loved the rain head shower. The hammock on the balcony became my new best friend. Cabin attendant was efficient and attentive without being pesky. Our cabin was kept spotless.Room service was prompt and delicious. (Who doesn’t like gummy bears delivered in the middle of the night?). Bed was comfortable, and the pillows nice and fluffy.
Functional, bathrooms tight. Loved the hammock and fresh water delivered everyday.
Mood lighting is amazing and fun!
