We combined a trip to the National WWII Museum in New Orleans with this cruise. This was the only reason for selecting the Glory. Our hotel (Holiday Inn Express) is a little over a half mile from the cruise terminal but after walking the Riverwalk and Convention Center, I don't think that there is a way to get there other than by taxi. Cost was around $20. We had an early check in time and from our arrival to entering the ship was 30 minutes!
We had a balcony cabin. Okay cabin but there was a grand total of one electrical outlet and no usb charging ports. We had to juggle phone recharging during the day with the cpap machine running at night. Our dinner table partners had usb charging outlets in their table side lamps but we did not.
Dining was interesting. In the MDR we were in and out in 60 minutes every night! It felt a little rushed but we got used to it. No tablecloths or coffee offered with dessert. But we got out in time to see the early show every night. Did the Steakhouse on Mother's Day and it was a genuine disappointment. Long wait for a cocktail which turned out to be wrong and over cooked steaks. Blue Iguana and Guys were best and most reliable breakfast and lunch.
