RCCL is focusing all their attention on their new, huge ships, 6,000+ passengers. More money, less crew members, less food, less entertainment, less service. Everything extra cost, most a big cost. Nothing is given as an extra when you book a cruise, no free crew appreciation, no drink packages, no onboard credit but the prices are the same as other cruise lines that give you extras.
This cruise was a gift to my grandson and his wife, he has cruised several times but she never has. I booked them a Promenade Interior, I wanted them to be able to see something. I was in an Accessible Oceanview, Deck 2. I never book that low on decks but that was all I was offered 9 months ago when I booked. I am a seasoned cruiser with either 59 or 60 cruises completed. Before the Pandemic RCCL and Princess were my go-to cruise lines. I am a Diamond Plus member which doesn’t count for anything.
The good points of the cruise (there were few) were embarkation was a breeze. From entering the Galveston port terminal to the ship was right at 11 minutes and I was using a scooter. Debarkation was the same, ship to my shuttle bus was right at 15 minutes with picking up luggage. I purchased the KEY CARD for my grandson at $259 and it was worth the money. They used it all 5 days. You can lookup the benefits at RCCL.com. I never purchase photos but they did and the photographers were amazing. The price was ridiculous. The Comedian was good.
I had an Accessible Oceanview. The cabin was old and dated with spots on the rug, several chips in the sink and toilet, paper pulling off the walls, a feeling of no one cares about the cabin.
Absolutely nothing there but some hastily constructed shops selling cheap native items.
Cozumel is beautiful. Everyone needs to see it once.
