This was the 7th cruise for me and the 8th for my wife. This was the first time on Norwegian for either of us. Other cruises have been with Carnival and Royal Caribbean. Port stops included Porta Plata, DR, St. John, Antigua, St. Thomas, USVI, San Juan, PR and the cruise line’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas. There were two complete sea days on this nine-day cruise.

We booked a stateroom with an extra-large balcony for a price slightly higher than one with a smaller balcony. The balcony was about 100 s.f. and had room for a couple of lounge chairs as well as a table and two smaller chairs. We liked the extra space, but we inevitably don’t wind up spending as much time on the balcony as we think we will.

The cabin was nice. It was cleaner than I would expect, as was much of the ship. Other than some dust in remote places I couldn’t find too much fault. The bed was quite firm but comfortable. We slept well each night. The bathroom was larger than I was used to. The shower was easily the roomiest I’ve seen on any of the cruise ships I’ve been on. Water pressure was great and hot water was plentiful. The double sink is also a nice touch.
