Sail Date: May 2023

I recently cruised on the EPIC, May 11 thru May 20 with spouse and 2 friends. A couple weeks before we sailed out of Rome, the cruise line cancelled one of its ports (Sorrento) one of the specific reasons for choosing the ship was for the itinerary. The cabins with balcony were strangely configured, meaning, the layout was horrible, tiny thin counter space, a bathroom on right side upon entrance to room and the shower on the left side upon entrance to the room, the wash sink was at the foot of the bed, and a useless rounded sofa the stuck out in the room in front of clothes closet causing limited space, thus you had to alternate with your spouse to maneuver in the room. You had no information on your tv regarding your next port of call.

Now, lets talk about services, the food was very average, and alot of times cold while sitting heat lamps, the ONLY 2 restaurants that word very good out of all available were Cagney's steakhouse and the Japanese restaurant, and these 2 were specialty restaurants. The entertainment 2 shows Burn the floor , one hour, was very good, and Beatles performance that was constantly rescheduled was only 35 mins, that you had to be there an hour before the show to get a seat.

The movie screen in the lobby area on 5th floor that would be playing VERY LOUD was stupidly placed across from customer/guest services that you could not hardly understand the staff whom you were talking with. Credit services to get money exchanges for Euros had very limited times of operation, and when in the port of Livorno, the ship closed all accounts, thus no money transactions, nor as a customer on the ship could not make any purchases and they would not sell any liquor despite having a drink package, this was for 2 days. The water system on the entire ship was turned the night before disembarkment, well over an hour, no ice buckets in the room, you had to pay for room service as well as alot of other services that were available on the ship, very a la cart. The entrance to the dining area were 2 young female greeters that acted like they were entertaining grade school kids with their silly songs they were singing. Majority of the staff was new to working on the ship, thus no blame there....it goes to management of Norwegian Cruise Lines. The staff that works for them, answering questions via phone is horrible as well, our booking person quit before our cruise even started, too much uncertainty on questions regarding the so called benefits you would be receiving regarding the restaurants excursions ,etc. I witnessed first hand numerous customers at the guest services area very irate with their experiences they were dealing with, as one customer was so loud, security was called to have her removed from the area. to sum it up, stay away away from this Cruise Line, PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS you will save yourself much heart ache and disappointment. Will NEVER use this cruise line again.
