We had sailed previously on the Marina and had a good cruise. Oceania offered an itinerary for Iberian and French Charisma that appealed to us. Unfortunately, due to weather delays in Denver, we did not arrive in Barcelona until 8:30 PM, which was after the Sirena had sailed. As we had booked our flights and transfers through Oceania, we were confident that someone would meet us at the airport despite our late arrival. This did not happen. With very little help from Oceania customer service, we found our way to the next port Cadiz two days later. We incurred nearly $1,500 of expenses for which we received a $400 shipboard credit.
There were good points to the cruise itself, however. The ports of call and excursions were very good. We enjoyed the specialty restaurants. The entertainment was better than expected for a ship of this size. However, the ship seems tired and in need of updating in the public areas. Also, I believe that they were short staffed, especially in the dining room and buffet. In summary, we found enough issues to make us not want to cruise on Oceania again.
The cabin was well-maintained. The bathroom seemed cramped compared to our experiences on other ships.
