MSC Meraviglia is a beautiful and very well-designed ship with lots of open spaces for passengers to enjoy the good weather. There are three pools, all of which attract different types of passengers from families with kids, to adults looking for relaxation, to those who want crowds and noise. There are 20 bars, most of which are open at different times. Staff is attentive and the drinks well served. You will get some type of live music entertainment in many of the, particularly towards the late afternoon or evening. Musicians are top notch. There was even a gentleman playing classical music in the piano in the Atrium. The Atrium is the heart of the ship. It is three stories tall and designed with a Swarovski glass encrusted staircase. You have to see it to believe it and it is impressive. The bar there makes excellent Irish Coffee as they do at the Sky Lounge too. The Sky Lounge was home away from home for us given the excellent service of the staff and the panoramic view you enjoy. There is also a near-by smoking room with bar service and a good selection of cigars.

We stayed in an interior cabin and found it more than acceptable in size and comfort. Our cabin steward was awesome as were all the staff on board. Bed and pillows provided excellent rest.

Entertainment was good and the shows provided top notch performers and musicians. Our only disappointment was the choreography which was high-schoolish at best. And as for disappointments, we found the food to be close to horrible. The buffet offered basically the same food day after day, with dried out rotisserie meats and mystery dishes called Ethnic Cuisine. Signs were too small to read so one never knew what they were. But the food at the restaurants was even worse. Dried out fish, hospital quality rice, rubbery calamari (made by Firestone) and desserts that were less than inspiring. On the bright side, the pasta dishes were quite good, the shrimp cocktail generous, and the prime rib I had on our first meal was out of this world. But if MSC does not improve food quality I would probably bring my own food if there is a second cruise with them. All things considered, we had fun and enjoyed the cruise, but the food has to improve to the level of the other mayor cruise lines.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Interior

Cabin was spotless and comfortable. Bed and pillows provided a very restful sleep. Well designee bathroom but, surprisingly, there were no tissues anywhere in the cabin.
