We have sailed with Celebrity a number of times and chose this cruise due to the itinerary. The ports were wonderful, however ship experience was not what we have come to expect from Celebrity. There was very poor communication regarding the ports ( when available maps were unreadable or useless, no talks about the port, tenders poorly organized - weather was bad for 2 but very little communication regarding what was happening and chaos ensued and never even took tender tickets so in end most people just got on regardless of group called at that point). The shore excursion desk had no clue about anything. We had received an email the day before the cruise that one of our excursions was cancelled (fine, it happens) but had tickets for it in our room. I checked with desk to see what was going on - was it cancelled or not - they had no idea or information even after I showed them the email. Told me they would let me know something in 24-48 hours. It took them 5 days. In meantime I booked a backup excursion which they screwed up by booking a excursion (that we already had booked) in a different port than we needed so had to straighten that out.
This ship itself could definitely use some touchups.
The service in the main dining room was wonderful as was one server in the cafe. The lounges and Buffet were very hit or miss. I chalk this up to the fact that most of the crew we talked to were on their first contract so while friendly and really trying hard the lack of experience and training showed.
