Sail Date: May 2023
Cabin: French Balcony Superior

This was the trip we were supposed to take in 2020, before the pandemic. We decided to use it - not lose it! I've desired to see the tulips in the Netherlands for many years, and we did visit the gardens in their splendor. Unfortunately, it rained in the middle. We saw many interesting towns, and many churches. We were supposed to visit a diamond cutter in Antwerp as an extra excursion, but he became ill. A bakery visit was substituted but NOT equivalent.

The Wesel, Germany, visit was disappointing, because it was Sunday, and not a shop, cafe, store was open. Our additional excursions in the Amsterdam extension repeated foods that we'd seen in earlier outings or dined on on the ship - the cheese shop, thepoffertjes, the bitterballen. And more items should have been included in the additional excursions, with places to rest.

Two excursions in one day was strenuous - there could have been more time between returning from the morning before setting out in the afternoon.

Cabin Review

French Balcony Superior

French Balcony - C or D? extremely compact in space. Did not like that one person had to move before other could access bathroom or door. If needed suitcase, the same situation held. Bathrooms should have non-breakable cups ( I broke a glass). The counter space in the room was also tight.
