We booked this transatlantic after our Christmas trip with family was canceled due to illness AND to join some good friends on their first transatlantic. We set our expectations low even though we hadn’t sailed Epic previously as we had friends who had done so. At 6’-6” my biggest concern was the short bed. This indeed proved to be the biggest but not the only issue.

I ended up sleeping perpendicular to the head of the bed, with my head through butt on the bed and my legs laying on the adjacent sofa. Not comfortable but at least I could sleep.

Other issues with Epic are its lack of places to enjoy being on the ocean. SpiceH2o could be that place but there is a huge tv screen that blocks access to the ocean. The Great Outdoors (which is our favorite space on other NCL ships is located in the middle of the ship and has little relationship yo anything but the pool. So what is a quiet place to have breakfast, lunch or read on other ships is instead the loudest place onboard when the exercise programs are being held there. The overall size of Epic is also an issue at least for me. It’s huge but feels so tight in so many places. I’m not a gambler so having the casino down the middle of a whole deck ruins that whole floor.

Mid-Ship Balcony

Awful-the short bed doesn’t work for anyone over 5’-8”
