We’d never been on a cruise of any kind, so we wanted one that was more reasonable in length and had places we’d never visited. The choices of pre and post extensions were great . We choose Lucerne and The Hague - and enjoyed both locations.
Shore excursions - The variety of excursions was good so we weren’t always doing city walks, but had a chance to see some of the countryside as well. My only wish would have been better weather on the day we were seeing the castles but Mother Nature didn’t want to cooperate!
Dining - The variety of food was great. We could sample local meal items or mix them with standard American fare.
We had a suite so we had far more room to move around! This also gave us additional amenities which were great - Especially the laundry service!
We opted for the Black Forest excursion. It was interesting to see how coocoo clocks were made and the gift shop was great! The demonstration on making a Black Forest cake was also interesting! Which we could have sampled what she made..
Today we joined the leisure group for our tour - abut slower pace, and more frequent pauses - timing was just right. Unfortunately the cathedral was not open for groups when we were there bc it was a holiday and there was a special mass going on.
