We took a river cruise last fall and really enjoyed it. Some friends and us decided to try all 3 of Viking cruise ships. Viking does a first class job of getting you to the boat, making you feel welcome and catering to your every need. All of the crew, no matter what the level were engaging, helpful, at times entertaining. They were always professions yet engaging and friendly. You get a strong sense that they enjoy their jobs. There is a teamwork mentality which makes it fun. At times I felt almost guilty because the crew was doing so much with us. This was a first trip for the Polaris on this route so there had to be a lot of new coordination. They did a magnificent job. The shore excursions were well done and the guides very knowledgeable. Only problem that I had is that I age too much. :) The food was outstanding whether it was at the buffet style or in the 2 theme Restaurants. We already booked for our Ocean Cruise on the Viking Jupiter in September.
