We did both the pre cruise two days in Lucerne, and the Amsterdam two day add-on at the end of the cruise. Lucerne was amazing; the tour in town was great, as was the full day tour which included cheese making, farm visiting and fondu eating!! The guides in Lucerne and on the full day trip, were great; lots of energy and knowledge. Nothing but an A+ for them.

And the cruise...sights were incredible, staff was perfect, the suite was exactly as hoped. Food choices were great...we could be as adventurous as we wanted to be. And the various options for day trips were perfect. We could go...or not go! It allowed us to see the cities to which we would like to return.

My only complaint concerns the Viking staff at the hotel in Amsterdam. They were not helpful, and at times, almost rude. I felt as if we were in their way, rather than their wanting to help with questions, etc. The tour guide we had was very good, however, so as long as we didn't have to speak to the hotel Viking staff, all was good.
