I liked the idea of seeing the Provence area and I loved going thru all the locks. From the moment we stepped onto the boat, we were helped with everything we needed. The food was wonderful and the excursion leaders were all very knowledgeable. My only problem was that we scheduled ourselves too tightly and never got to really experience just sitting on the boat and watching things go by. Next time I would like to know when the boat will be moving during the day so we can schedule better. But this is our problem , not Vikings. Even in our post excursion Viking took care of us. They even had a representative at the airport to help get our bags checked in. I enjoyed the fact that the chef had regional selections for each dinner. It gave more of a flavor of the area to our trip. I will certainly return to Viking probably next year.
We were certainly snug but we had everything we needed. If we had chosen a room with a balcony , I think we would have been too crowded.
We were very lucky because we were there on may 1 and got to experience the parade with vintage dress and beautiful, horses. That added to the overall atmosphere. I liked seeing the places tha Van Gogh painted and the overall feel of the city.
