We booked this cruise pre-covid intending to visit the D-day beaches, Paris and Amsterdam. The Pandemic caused changes no one could predict. We ended up booked on this cruise, completely different than the one we booked.
We have sailed over 30 times on many Cruise Lines and were looking forward to sailing with Holland America on Rotterdam, their newest ship. Embarkation in Port Everglades was very efficient. The ship is beautiful. Our cabin, 60**, was slightly oversized being on the "bulge" and well located. The cabin was attractive and well appointed. We found the layout of the closets awkward. If both closet doors are opened you are trapped in a cage. The bathroom door further limits movement. Closet space and drawer space were generous. The balcony was better than most, larger and had 2 good chairs and ottomans.
On the 5th day our cabin became possessed! The walls creaked and the balcony doors rattled. They disassembled the ceiling but could not stop the noises. Our cabin was changed. Good effort' poor result.
