I choose this cruise to see the Virgin Islands & DR. First, the ship was too crowded. Very, very small pool for the number of guests, I couldn't even get in and no chairs to be found. Besides the buffet, they have 3 complimentary restaurants with the same menu in all three. Food was terrible. My steak was so tough I could not cut it. The veal parm was soggy, french onion soup is a bowl with weak broth and a few onions. You have to make reservations for all the "upscale" restaurants which sold out very quickly. Do NOT order the lobster if you to the steak house. For $25 I almost laughed at the size, teeny tiny, however the steak was delicious. I only got to see one show because they sold out. I did three excursions, the first I went to a Beachclub in the DR. Beach was so rocky I could not safely go in, had lunch (was ok) and then we sat in a small pool. Pictures very deceiving. St. Thomas city tour was good and the snorkeling in Tortola was amazing and well worth the money. I also found out through talking to a few other "solo" travelers that I paid more than many of the other passengers. I had a Studio Room which was big enough for one but the solo rooms are very isolated. Staff was very nice, helpful and generally a pleasure to interact with. Disembarkment was total chaos. I have traveled 3 other cruise lines but this was so disappointing that I will not travel NCL again.
