Norwegian Prima has been slammed a lot on these boards, but I was able to have a great time by doing a bit of research beforehand-like reading these CC Reviews. Here are a couple of tips that I can offer in turn:
1. Reserve dining, entertainment and shore excursions ASAP-as soon as your booking window opens. Mine happened to open on Christmas Eve. Thinking that no one would be reserving on Christmas Eve or Day I waited until the 26th, by which time the only dining times left at specialty restaurants were just before closing. Thankfully I like to eat late. Reservations are also helpful, though not absolutely necessary, at the complimentary dining rooms. Finally, reserve online to avoid embarkation day hassles.
2. Dine at less crowded times like just before closing. The buffet and the food hall both could get quite crowded but the crowds thinned out after about 2:00. There's a grill at the back of the buffet that serves burgers, hot dogs and fixins into the late afternoon. At the food hall try sitting at the counters which almost always have seating available, and move around to try items from the various counters.
I upgraded from a studio to a balcony cabin and I'm glad I did. It was very spacious and elegant with a large balcony and comfy bed & balcony chairs. It felt more like an upscale hotel room than a cruise ship cabin.
