Friends of mine chose this cruise. They had also never cruised on Scenic. This was my third river cruise, the other two were with a competitor.

Overall, an okay cruise, and that's all. Some great staff though mostly in the lounge. I don't understand at all what the butler does or how he differs from a cabin steward, or room service. I called him twice and he referred me elsewhere both times. After that I didn't bother him anymore.

My main complaint is with the food which I believe to be substandard. The food I felt was often bland, unimaginative and merely okay, where as in most cities and towns the food was simply outstanding. Towards the end of the cruise, when we could we would eat off the ship. Read more
