We chose the cruise primarily for the destinations/ports as we were doing a memorial trip for family. This was meant to be a once-in-a-lifetime trip so we splurged on a suite, which was wonderful, and the butler service associated with it was excellent, as you would expect.
Unfortunately, for a cruise line that bills itself as having the best food at sea, we just didn’t find that to be true. While the specialty restaurants are very elegantly appointed, the food was at best average, and in some cases, bad. It felt as though there was an idea of what the food was “supposed to be” but no one in the kitchen actually knew how to make it or was doing any sort of quality control.
We did enjoy the buffet, however.
We were in an Oceania Suite. It was wonderful.
It’s a lovely little port but it was a holiday the day we were there and all but the tourist shops and restaurants were closed.
