As someone who worked in travel and the cruise industry, Norwegian always stuck out as the best and the innovator in cruising. Years ago, I sailed on the Norway (best ship ever) and the Sunward. This was our first Norwegian cruise in 22 years. We have sailed Royal and Princess several times in the past few years.
We chose to book our own flights and transfers which saved a lot of money but honestly kind of a hassle and a bit of a risk if anything goes wrong. Our cruise departed out of Miami which is a very busy and chaotic port. Norwegian seemed organized and the check in was really very smooth. Our stateroom was a Family balcony on the 15th deck aft which was near the Garden Cafe, the complimentary dining room.
If you require internet be prepared to shell out some serious cash if you want internet that doesn’t time out and can stream movies, games and social media. We purchased an unlimited package but not the premium Wi-Fi and it was barely functional. When bringing it to the staffs attention you were advised to purchase the upgraded package. For a party of 4 that was nearly $400.
